Sacramento Independence Day Celebration

Cal Expo proudly joins the City and County of Sacramento to produce the largest-scale pyrotechnics display in the area’s history. The Independence Day Celebration is a family oriented collection of activities focused around our Nation’s birthday. In addition to the spectacular fireworks display, the Celebration also includes music and dancing in the Grandstand area.

Live Harness Racing - Watch, Wager at Win on live harness racing starting at 5 p.m. in the Miller Lite Grandstand. Live Music & Dancing - Mobility, a subdivision of the US Air Force band of the Golden West, will provide live music and dancing |

Parking is $10 per vehicle. Guests should use the East Gate, located at the intersection of Exposition Blvd. and Challenge Way, as the main entrance to the event. Enter through the D Lot parking area. |

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Fireworks, cans, glass bottles alcoholic beverages, weapons and all animals (with the exception of service animals) are prohibited. Bags and ice chests will be searched at the gate.
Following the show, both Eastbound and Westbound Exposition Blvd. off-ramps will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Further closures are TBA. Attendees of the July 4th celebration parking in Lots A & B will be directed to leave Cal Expo through the tunnel exit leading to either Highway 160 or the Capitol City Freeway. Those parking in Lots C & D will exit east on Exposition Blvd. Heavy vehicle traffic is anticipated, so please arrive early! The Cal Expo Police Department would also like to remind the public that it is a violation of the vehicle code to stop on the freeway or any surface street to watch the fireworks. |
